Hi there, this is Aryansh and in this pots I'm gonna do a quick review of the new Samsung Galaxy Note II.
The Galaxy Note II is a very powerful feature packed phablet from Samsung. There are a lot of improvements over the previous version of Note and a lot of changes. Read More to know more.
"Technology is advancing every second" Oh Yes! With Samsung, this is very true. In my article about the Samsung S3 mini, I mentioned the rate at which Samsung is advancing. And this product is yet another piece of that "quick" production.
The Galaxy Note 2 is a flagship Android phablet(it serves the purpose of a phone as well as a tablet, so I like to call it that) from Samsung and it ships with the Android version 4.1 i.e Jelly Bean. Which is very smooth and I have mentioned the features of Jelly Bean earlier in a post. They have the sick TouchWiz UI again.
In the storage section, I'm feeling as if Samsung is following the footsteps of Apple by giving different storage options at different costs. I don't if others feel the same or it's just me. Anyways, it comes in three variants, 16 GB, 32 GB and the 64 GB. This phablet has a RAM of 2 GB which is quite peculiar as there are not many phones in the market right now which have this much of RAM. It does support a microSD card which is expandable to 32 GB.
The CPU of this phone is a Exynos 4412 Quad-Core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9 which is another peculiar feature and it is because of this beastly processor which makes the phone run as smooth as satin(I like satin more than butter). And the RAM is what makes the phone running smooth even while multitasking.
The GPU on this phablet is the same as in the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Mali-400 MP GPU, the performance of which is being appreciated all over the world now.
The phone has a voice recognition of it's OS as well as of Samsung's. I have written an article about the features of Jelly Bean earlier which covers up the Google Now. I should now talk about the S Voice. I'll be posting about the S Voice separately but in brief, it sucks! Although, it has been improved a lot in this phablet but comparatively it stands nowhere. It is like some primitive voice recognition technology which we can get in some cheap computer voice recognition software.
The camera on this phablet is a 8 MP shooter which has the autofocus functionality and it has an LED flash too. The camera on this phone is very nice and it can also record video at 1080p resolution at 30 fps and that is remarkable.
The connectivity options that we get are: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC
The phone supports only a micro-SIM. So, I guess carriers will give contracts and all that for this.
The last thing, the battery. The battery in this phablet is a giant 3100 mAh battery which should last for 2-3 days in one charge.
If you have any questions, do post them in the comments section, I'd love to answer them.

The first thing I'd like to tell about this phablet is the screen. This phablet has a 5.5 inch screen which has a resolution of 720X1280 and it is a Super AMOLED screen which is just amazing. It has a pixel density of 267 ppi, which is a little less to my expectations, but it does the job. Even after all this, the colours on the screen are very over-saturated "abnormally" bright. But the good thing is, and I'm very thankful to Samsung for including this, we get to choose from 4 Screen Modes which are:-
- Dynamic : This is the screen mode where you get the most saturated colours.
- Standard : This is the setting which is set by default by Samsung and it has those over-saturated colours.
- Natural : To my liking this is the best screen setting. We can see all the colours as they are, just natural.
- Movie : This mode is very nice for watching videos in HD as this gives the real dark sort of feel that we get in HD videos.
Also, the screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. And I have to tell you, this type of protection, till date, is the best I have seen on a phablet.
The phablet is not meant for single-hand usage as it is not possible to reach all parts of the screen with the thumb of the hand by which you are holding it. You won't have any problem f you'll hold it in one hand and use it with the other. I have seen a lot of people doing that, but I personally don't feel like using it that way as it looks very awkward.
