BlackBerry Phones: Should you buy them?

Hi there, this is Aryansh and in this post I'm gonna tell you about BlackBerry phones and whether or not you should buy them.

Every 2nd guy in today's world has a BlackBerry phone, but that's not true in the entire world. It is just in "ancient"(what people at Samsung called them) countries ,like India and all, that this is happening. Read More to find out.

BlackBerry's sales have dropped down in the US and UK. These were the major sources of revenue for BlackBerry, since them, BlackBerry wanted to save itself from a financial disaster, and for that, BlackBerry was launched in South Asian countries like India and Pakistan. BlackBerry phone, when launched, were very expensive and, therefore, had become a status symbol for all.

BlackBerry phones are very expensive according to the cost and they don't even have the features. At this point, many BlackBerry fanboys may argue with me and the point they'll have is BBM.
BBM is short for BlackBerry Messenger and it is really a very silly messenger. This messenger lets you talk to people who have a BlackBerry phone. I can't call them smartphones as they don't have anything "smart" and are outsmarted by other smartphones available in the market. BlackBerry users tout about their phones depending only on the stupid messenger that they have in their phone.

Why should you buy a BlackBerry?

First,  I'd like to talk about why you should buy a BlackBerry phone. Suppose that you work for a company, and the company has given all their employees a BlackBerry Bold 9900. In this case, if you want to share a file or a photograph you can do the same over BBM and it is a lot more time saving than opening you computer, opening your browser, opening you email service provider site, then typing the email address, attaching the file you wanna send, and then sending it. With BBM, this all becomes a one-step process.
Another thing would be that, if your group is working on a project that your company gave you, you can easily discuss your points and show presentations and chat at the same time.

Another case can be:
If you run a small business and all your employees have/or you have given BlackBerry phones to them, you can easily contact them at any point of time without wasting much time via BBM. It would be a lot more convenient than actually calling the person and talking to her/him.

Conclusion : It is useful for a group of people using BlackBerry devices. This is the only reason you should buy a BlackBerry phone and nothing else.

Why you shouldn't buy a BlackBerry?

If you have read the above portion of this article, "Why you should buy a BlackBerry?", good. If you haven't, read it!
Having done that, you know the only thing for which you should buy a BlackBerry. And if the conditions mentioned are true for you, go for a BB and you don't need to read this portion. The people who have BBM also have Whatsapp on their phone, so there's no point buying it just for that. Whatsapp has all the functions of BBM and works on all platforms.

First let me talk about the display. The display on these BlackBerry phones is generally very small and it is also not as good as Retina Display or Super AMOLED or Super LCD2 or even IPS. What they provide in most phones is the general TFT display which has very poor viewing angles. It is not fit for watching movies or viewing long documents and all that. Also, the touch screens on these turn wiggly after some time. The pixel density isn't very nice too.

Coming to the camera. Even the BlackBerry users know that the camera on these phones is very poor. It is not sharp at all and the colours too don't come out good. In some BlackBerries they do come out good, but in BlackBerries it is like one has got some good features and lacks too many good features. The autofocus I believe, is found only in the touch phones of BlackBerry. LED flash may be present.

The build quality of these phones is very nice and they are too tough to be broken by a single drop or something equivalent to that. These phones have a very complicated design and it is not simple-looking at all. There is like, an extended curve(not the model of BB) for the headphone/earphone jack and the charging port, the battery cover is not easy at all to take out, etc. It is also like, at some parts it is  rubber and at some parts it is plastic and at some parts it is aluminum or some metal of that kind. I have seen many cases in which volume and other buttons at the side start popping out, which, in my opinion, is a sick thing! And that makes your phone look "absurd" I shall say. Just Because they are too well-built they gain weight! Oh yes! you can feel them in your pocket all the time!

There is no option to enhance sound in these phone. Like in HTC(Search blog for HTC), we get the beats audio enhancement option and in other phones too we get something or the other. In BlackBerry phones, we get something called the "Audio Boost" and it is nothing but an increase in volume. Sound quality that these phones provide is the same as the sound quality of the music. There is no sound enhancement option.

The memory that we get in these phones is good. The internal memory sucks anyway, but we do get the option to add a memory card and we can store apps on it too. There is nothing bad about the memory but it also ain't a major feature.

With these phones, we get the traditional series of dumb BlackBerry OSs and it has very few apps. The apps also aren't very good and they are phone specific. Having phone specific apps means that some models may have a lot of apps and the others may have lesser apps. Apps aren't universal. The games also suck on this shit.

The processor also isn't very good and multitasking isn't very great. They are just not fit for multitasking. RAM in these phones is quite nice but more than half of it is used by the OS itself!

The battery on these phones is normal. I don't have anything to comment in this section, but I'd say that the battery life isn't something extraordinary. The max that I got was without a SIM! One and a half day was it!

So that's very much it...
I hope to see you soon again...
