First of all I would like to tell you that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the flagship Android phone from Samsung and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is directly from Google.
The Samsung Android interface is very much like 'crayon coloured'. Everything is just too like animated, or 'cartooned', I would say. I don't know why Samsung likes to put it this way but the real Android interface is much better than that of Samsung's. Every single icon is coloured and not just coloured, they are brightly coloured, very very very brightly coloured, and that makes it look like it is meant for kids. And on the other hand Samsung Galaxy Nexus has it from Google. And the interface is truly amazing. It is much more elegant than the Galaxy S3. It is ideal for people who are into business and stuff.
Another thing is the size factor. In this field the Galaxy S3 wins over the Galaxy Nexus but from my Personal point of view the Galaxy Nexus is just fine for the size. The display doesn't matter much comparatively as the Galaxy S3 appears to be much bigger just because of that stupid button that Samsung has been putting on almost all their phones but the Galaxy Nexus.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 wins over all the benchmarks but when using the Galaxy Nexus you will not encounter any problem at all.
Look wise, I have to say that the Galaxy NEXUS wins! First of all Samsung is not shipping Galaxy S3 in pure Black. They are shipping it in a rather Light Graphite colour or something like that and when you just lock both the Black Galaxy Nexus and black Galaxy S3, the nexus wins. The Nexus has no physical buttons over it and thus the screen looks much better with its shine whereas the Galaxy S3 has a rather dull finish to its screen. Both the phones have a HD resolution screen, so you don't have to worry about the depth of Graphics and Videos.
The Galaxy S3 has and 4.8" screen whereas the Galaxy Nexus has a 4.6" screen but that doesn't make any difference at all. The Galaxy S3 is just and bit wider and taller because of that stupid home button and those unnecessary wide sides.
The Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Nexus, both appear to be of the some thickness. But technically the Galaxy S3 is a BIT slimmer than the Galaxy Nexus.
The Galaxy S3 has more of a glossy plastic finish whereas the Galaxy Nexus has a more rubberized plastic finish at the sides and at the back the Galaxy Nexus has a more textured finish to it, which makes the Nexus look better. The glossy plastic on the Galaxy S3 makes me feel like the build quality of the Galaxy S3 is of a lower grade and I would say that Samsung has cut down on the built to make it a bit less expensive. The Galaxy Nexus' rubberized finish makes it look elegant and the build quality of the Galaxy Nexus is comparatively better than the Galaxy S3. I would recommend using a cover if you are using a Galaxy S3 or are swayed by others and going to buy a new Galaxy S3.
The camera on the Galaxy S3 is an 8 Megapixels camera and on the Galaxy Nexus it is a 5 Megapixels camera and both with flash. The camera on the Galaxy S3 is pretty impressive as the colors and all come out vivid and the picture quality is also nice. But if you are not much of a shooter then the Galaxy Nexus would be alright for you.
The Galaxy S3 has a Quad - Core 1.4 GHz processor and the Galaxy Nexus has a 1.2 GHz Dual - Core processor and that is more than enough if you just want to play around with the apps and do some business work like e- mail and presentation and stuff. I personally don't feel the need of a Quad - Core processor in phone. I would rather prefer it in Tablets because the screen is a bit small if you think that it is going to handle some heavy work like presentation making and editing pics and lots of other stuff. For that you will have to scroll a lot and you may find the screen small for it and I would prefer you to buy a tablet for that reason and and Android tablet to be precise.
The GPU on the Galaxy S3 is a MALI 400 GPU and on the Galaxy Nexus has a Power VR SGX540 GPU which is a normal type. As I have told earlier that, the Galaxy S3 is for those people who are like the Gamers or something and Galaxy Nexus is ideal for those things but not on a high scale as you can do on a Galaxy S3.
Another thing that I forgot to tell is that the Galaxy S3 has a blueish tint to its screen but the Galaxy Nexus has not got this thing. Which is good for Galaxy Nexus. But this blueish tint makes me SICK! You can see sharper images on a Galaxy Nexus for that reason. I don't know why this is but whatever it is, it doesn't look good.
If you want to do a lot of browsing and stuff, I would suggest you to go with the Galaxy Nexus. Yes you read it right, go with Galaxy Nexus. The reason I'm saying this is that, both the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S3 load webpages at almost the same time. Sometimes the Galaxy Nexus wins, ans sometimes the Galaxy S3. It is a very close competition. If you want to upgrade your old phone just because of the bad browsing experience, I would like to suggest buying the Galaxy Nexus as there is no use throwing money over the Galaxy S3 just for a better browsing experience.
The battery life, I have to say is much better in Galaxy S3 as it sports a 2100mAh battery and the Galaxy Nexus has a 1750mAh battery. So the Galaxy as I said is good if you want to do gaming and stuff for a long period of time but the Galaxy Nexus is good for daily use but it is not meant for gaming and other things.
Another thing is that both, The Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S3, Full HD 1080p Video Recording and here also the Galaxy S3 has a slight edge when it comes to the colour quality. But again, if you not much of a Video Recorder, I would suggest you to go with the Galaxy Nexus as there is no point throwing your money over something that you are never going to find use of.
Another thing as I have told you earlier is that since the Nexus is a Google device we get the stock, pure Android experience with it and on the Galaxy S3 we have the Touch Wiz from Samsung which sucks!
Since the Galaxy Nexus, as I have told earlier, is a Google device, it will get the Android updates much before the Galaxy S3. And as of now, the Galaxy Nexus has got the Jelly Bean Android update and the Galaxy S3 hasn't.
The choice is yours now...
That's it for now...
